I’ve recently taken over from Keith (aka Mav) and will be your guide at The Nurburgring Experience. Congratulations on your ‘retirement’ Mav!
I’ve been arranging European weekends and group trips to the Nurburgring and Eifel region for several years now. When I heard Mav wanted to step aside I jumped at the chance to take the helm and do something I enjoyed and felt passionate about.
After 10 years on, from the original idea of providing quality tours, at the Nurburgring, Mav wanted someone who was proper petrol head, keen to develop an already successful business, and move it forward to the next level. That person had to also be a seasoned ‘ringer’ with a passion for the place. That’ll be me then!
I’ve been a car nut since as far back as I can remember – my earliest memories of cars being my toy rally replica Lancia Stratos when I was aged just 4! I remember reading about the Yellow Bird Ruf 911 in Performance Car magazine back in the ‘90s and had wanted to visit the Nurburgring ever since!
I love road trips, Formula 1, rallying, touring car racing, and track days, in fact pretty much any kind of motorsport! I was lucky enough to attend an intense rally driving day years ago as part of a large group and it was probably the most fun you can have in a car!
Since passing through the Eifel region on a Euro tour many years ago I had finally ticked off one of the “things to do before you die” – driving the ‘ring. After one day and only 6 laps, I was hooked !!!
From then on every single trip (and there have been a quite a few!) has been organised by me. Our group usually ranges from 15 to 30 like minded petrol heads with a broad spectrum of vehicles. The majority of these people I have met through car forums and clubs and some I now regard as lifelong friends. It only seemed logical that I take the next step of this journey and do what I love - arranging trips to the Nurburgring with like minded enthusiasts on a regular basis.
My aim is to make sure that everyone who travels with The Nurburgring Experience will enjoy every moment and have an octane fuelled, adrenalin packed weekend. I hope your time with us will be one of the best weekends you will ever experience.
There are many people who visit the Nurburgring and only see the track, come with us and meet some of our German contacts, ride and drive some serious roads, drink coffee and beer, eat like Lords and above all relax while we take care of you!
